OPEN ENROLLMENT INFORMATION

Please click here for the most current DCSD Open Enrollment Dates and information. Open Enrollment at Ranch View is subject to the guidelines stated on the DCSD Open Enrollment website.

Open Enrollment to Ranch View Middle School is good for all years of secondary education. This means that your student will automatically roll to ThunderRidge High School. Open Enrollment does not need to happen between Ranch View Middle School and ThunderRidge High School.

To Open Enroll to Ranch View Middle School and become part of our Wolf Pack, please click here. If you have just moved within our boundaries, there is no need to Open Enroll. Open Enrollment is for those who do not live in our boundaries who wish to attend our school.

If you live within Ranch View Boundariesand are attending a charter, private, other DCSD, or out of district school, but would like to come to RVMS for 7th or 8th grade, for the next school year, please complete the Intent to Return Form (this means you intend to return to your neighborhood school). This form must be completed and turned in to RVMS by early January of each year.

NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

Special Education records which have been collected by Douglas County School District related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or the provision of special education in the district, must be maintained under state and federal laws for the period of five (5) years after special education services have ended for the student. Special education services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, or completes his/her educational program at age 21, or moves from the district. This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of Douglas County School District's intent to destroy the special education records of students who exited special education services as of June 30, 2016. These records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student notifies the school district otherwise. After five years, the records are no longer useful to the district, but may be useful to the parent/guardian or former student in applying for social security benefits, rehabilitation services, college entrance, etc. The parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student may request a copy of the records by requesting the records at this link ( Douglas County School District Transcripts and Records Requests ).
