What Do I Need to Know?

Practice attire needs to be shorts/leggings, a T-Shirt or Tank-top over a supportive sports bra. All girls need to have a pair of tennis shoes, this is a safety matter along with keeping our gym floor in good shape. Knee pads are a must and should be washed weekly. Each girl will check out team uniform to be worn on game days and tournaments. Please make sure they are clean and presentable when worn. Girls who do not have their uniform on game day will not play. Each girl is given a locker and combination in the locker room to keep their practice attire in for the season.

Try Outs

Volleyball is a non cut sport, meaning everyone who wants to learn plays. The first week of practice we will focus on skill building and level placement. Attendance is import not just at this time but for the overall 5 week season. If you are interested in making the A or B team please be prepared in knowing that you can not have regular weekly conflicts.

New Uniforms

GET YOUR UNIFORM THE FIRST DAY OF PRACTICE! Plan on looking your best the first day of practice we will take individual photos and checkout a jersey and shorts to each player. Players will be responsible for their uniform for the season. Please be sure to keep good care of them, lost or stained jerseys will result in a fee.

Tournaments

We are planning on taking two teams to an opening season tournament Aug. 13th and Aug 27th.  We are guaranteed two games. Games will be held at the Edge Volleyball club at 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. This will be invite only. Players will know by Wednesday after practice  if they qualify. There will be a player's fee for participants.

Education to Publication

Please make sure you have signed the media release form in IC. You would have done this at checkin, if you do not know for sure you can call the school and ask the school scheduler she would be able to confirm.  This year we would really like to photography to document our girls through their journey of the season. I will be using these photos in my digital design classes for students to create collage advertisements for our program, school spirit and to create a school wide family where everyone feels valuable.

Who Plays?

Everyone plays at this level, playing at practice is just as important as getting the practice of performing in games. We are dividing teams based on level, skill and potential, this evens the playing field of game time. Students who make A/B team we do ask that will be expected to not have conflicts with practices.  Parents, if you or your child are frustrated with any performance do not contact any coach until 24 hours after the game or event in question. We will be happy to talk with you, but will not do so unless you follow this guideline. Not attending practice will effect game time. Students have to be counted present at school the same day they attend practice or games. If they are marked absent for the day they will not be able to attend practice/game held that same day. Students are expected to have passing Work Habits grade in order to play a game. Grades will be checked every Friday for the next week's game. If you have more questions about school sport rules and guidelines please feel free to read our sports hand book that will help you with any questions.

Flex Ride

We are working with RTD to get students transportation support for after school activities. Flex Ride is an excellent service by RTD that is available in South Jeffco. The goal is to get RTD to expand its service in our district for our growing community. Please email the address below in the interest of creating an available Flex Ride for commuting students in our area. Share this address with neighbors and friends who also would like transportation for their students who participate in after school Activities.
